GMT POD

Dual time zone.

The GMT Pod gives you the possibility to set a second time zone. Swiss Made movement, curved sapphire glass and engraved case back. Rhodium plated or matte black hands. Waterproof 10 atm just like the watch case.

COMPASS POD

A great sense of direction.

The Compass Pod is equipped with a Francis Barker SAS Button Compass, built to full military specifications for survival use and included as a standard NATO inventory item specified by the British Army. The compass has been designed to hold up under the harshest environments and during WWII, even swallowed by military pilots during capture so that it could later be used as an escape compass. It has niva tipped brass pivot, north and south seeking luminous points and is functional down to –40C.

ACTIVITY POD / UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Monitor your movements.

The activity Pod will be equipped with a mechanical activity tracker. Front with sapphire glass protecting a small dial with daily activity scale from 0–100. Individual goal is calibrated on the back of the pod, using the OP Tool.

Patent pending link system.

Developed and tested by Oskar Pascal, the OP Pod and Link system V1 uses custom made links and inserts to ensure a perfect fit of Pods and leather straps. A single screw locks and unlocks, easy and secure. Every watch comes with the OP Tool, a high end torque wrench that guarantees just the right torque to secure the link screw.

Future proof technology.

The Pod system is based on a few fundamental principles — modularity, focus on mechanical technology and ease of use. No connection, no charging, no mobile app. A future proof system where you can easily change and add new Pods. New technology is developed and launched on an ongoing basis.

OP-X

The beating heart in OP consists of a self-winding mechanical chronograph, developed and manufactured by Vaucher in Fleurier, Switzerland, one of the most prominent high-grade movement makers in the world.

Caliber OP-X has up to 50 hours power reserve, 189 components, 28 jewels and 4 Hz (28’800 A/h). Hour and minute in the centre, small second at 3 o’clock, 60 seconds counter in the centre, 30 minutes counter at 9 o’clock, 12 hour counter at 6 o’clock, date window at 4h30.

The Dial

The face of the watch — the foundation for interaction between you and the movement. The dial has three submerged small dials and a matte white or black foundation. The date disc is custom made and hand printed i Switzerland. The graduation scales and numerals are printed with high precision décalque printing technique. This process ensures flawless clarity down to 0.05 mm.

Ultralight carbon fiber hand

A second – the building block of a minute – the foundation of an hour. A tiny measurement that might seem insignificant. Not for us. To enable the minimal design of the chronograph seconds we had to think different and developed a hand completely made of carbon fiber. Only 0.28 mm thin with a weight of 0.002 g and still stronger than traditional steel hands. Hand painted and assembled through a custom made center canon in German Silver. Secured by a drop of UV glue for at perfect position.

Engineered and designed in Sweden, in close collaboration with Cyrano Devanthey in Switzerland – one of few watchmakers in the world with the knowledge of complete handmade, precision wristwatches.

Manufactured in Fleurier, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva Switzerland, ensuring the high quality and craftsmanship that defines every Oskar Pascal timepiece.

Our leather straps are handmade in Geneva, crafted in dark brown or black premium calfskin. OP Pod and Link system V1 integrated. Custom made buckle with engraved logotype.


MENU – ZR01

OP483 Chronograph is the only watch ever made of extreme ZR01 metal. Three times stronger than stainless steel with a remarkable Vickers hardness of 483. Crafted using patented technology and laser beam melting with a ultra sharp focus of 55 µm.

Atomic level engineering

Designed to withhold the highest standard in every environment, the OP483 watch cases and pods are crafted from the zirconium-based metallic alloy ZR01 — appertain to amorphous metals used by NASA as mirrors on satellites in space.

In contrast to other metals, ZR01 has a disordered atomic structure giving it unique properties in strength, hardness and wear resistance. The amorphous structure also provides excellent haptic and isotropic behaviour and is non magnetic.

Strength through supercooling

The ZR01 metal is 3D-printed as blanks by Heraeus Amloy, one of the worlds leading manufacturer of amorphous components. During normal metal casting, nuclei of crystals are formed and the grain size, shape, orientation and distribution depend strongly on the cooling conditions. Imperfections of the structure is common and impurities along grain and phase boundaries can weaken the protection against corrosion and affect fracture toughness.

To avoid this supercooling is used for ZR01, resulting in a structure with no imperfections or impurities. This creates a perfect material with an extreme hardness of 483 on the Vickers scale. Four times higher than aircraft grade aluminum and three times stronger than stainless steel.

ZR01 space metal for the toughest of missions

Due to its high corrosion resistance in extreme environments NASA uses amorphous metals for gears and drilling heads for moon rovers as well as mirrors on satellites in space. ZR01 is three times stronger than stainless steel with a remarkable Vickers hardness of 483.

Meet ambassador and astronaut Christer Fuglesang. Awarded twice with the NASA Space Flight Medal, professor in Space travel and one of the world’s most experienced astronauts in spacewalks.

ZR01 cases and pods are milled using 5-axis CNC machines with superlative precision in Switzerland, before the final hand-finishing.
